Rupak Roy arrested after a social media post claimed that he desecrated the Quran [ Nilphamari, Bangladesh ]

A Hindu boy named Rupak Roy has been arrested by the police under the Blasphemy Act (DSA). The incident took place in Syedpur Upazila of Nilphamari of Bangladesh. It all started with a false social media post that said that Roy had desecrated the Quran.

It is said that so far the Bangladeshi government has arrested more than 100 Hindu boys under this Act.

Earlier a class 10 student named, Paritosh Sarkar was held guilty under the same offense which is yet to be proved. Even after this, the child was kept in solitary confinement for 8 months while he was undergoing trial. Solitary confinement more  than 15 consecutive days is recognized by the United Nations as “torture”. However, nothing could stop the radical population to keep on punishing the child for the crime which was never proved.
