18-year-old, Mamta strangled to death [ Punjab , India ]

On 19 November, 18-year-old Hindu girl Mamta was strangled to death by 25 year-old Shariq, after grooming Jihad failed and the girl blocked him over the phone and started to keep her distance from him.

Mamta was killed in her house  at Burail village in Sector 45, Chandigarh.

25 year-old, Shariq, is a native of Bihar. His wife lives there while he works in Chandigarh. He was earlier a neighbour of Mamta and later shifted to another locality at Burail village. Mamta’s body was discovered by her mother, Champa Devi, after she returned from work at 2 p.m.

After initially falling for the groomer’s trap, Mamta started maintaining distance from him and also blocked him on her phone after she found he was already married. This irked the Jihadi to commit the heinous crime.

A CCTV footage help the police confirm that Mohammad Shariq was behind Mamta’s murder. Shariq was seen entering the house of the victim and coming out of it after one and a half-hours.

He was caught at a local bus stop in Chandigarh while he was on his way to Bihar.
