Anju Dorjee murdered by live-in partner, Mani Khan [ Assam, India ]

On November 12, a 25- to 26-year-old woman from Bokajan, Assam named Anju Dorjee was discovered dead in her rented flat in the Six Mile neighbourhood. Since the event came to light, the live-in partner, Mani Khan, a married Muslim father of two from the Barpeta region in southern Assam, has become evasive.

Dispur Police in Guwahati made the arrest after reviewing CCTV video from the flat where the  murder took place. The final fifteen days’ worth of video evidence was important in establishing Mani Khan as the main suspect.

Anju Dorjee’s terrible death is still being investigated, and preliminary indications indicate that it may be a murder case. When Anju’s landlord smelled something bad coming from the flat she and Mani Khan shared, he found Anju’s body. Authorities have obtained crucial information on the murder, even if the postmortem report is still waiting.
