Auto Driver Assaulted for Playing ‘Sri Ram’ Song [Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh]

In a troubling incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, communal tensions flared as an auto driver named Manish was brutally assaulted and his vehicle vandalized allegedly for playing a ‘Sri Ram’ song near Mahona Sheikh Tola Madrasa. The attackers, identified as Shanu Sabhasad, Danish, Safiq, and Shamim Shaikh, belong to the Muslim community.

The assault, which occurred on Friday, March 15th, has sparked outrage among the Hindu community, with many condemning the attack as an act of religious intolerance. According to reports, the assailants claimed that they assaulted Manish due to his playing loud music and alleged misbehavior when they protested. However, the victims maintain that they were targeted specifically for playing the song of ‘Sri Ram’.

Furthermore, it has been alleged that the attack was orchestrated by an Islamist mob led by a councillor’s husband, Mohd Shanu, along with other members.
