Government School Teacher Accused of Assaulting 5-Year-Old Girl [kota, Rajasthan, India]

In a disturbing incident that has recently come to light, a government school teacher in Kota, Rajasthan, identified as Mohammed Abdul Sattar, is facing serious allegations of breaking the arm of a 5-year-old girl and physically abusing other minor students. The incident occurred on February 23 in the primary section of the government senior secondary school in Kheda Rasulpur village.

The victim’s father, Rajendra Mehra, reported that his daughter, Amaira, a Class 1 student, returned home in tears on that fateful day. Upon investigation, the child revealed that Teacher Abdul Sattar had not only assaulted her but also flung her to the ground, resulting in a dislocated bone.

In a video capturing the statements of the affected children, it is alleged that Md. Abdul Sattar would frequently assign them menial tasks such as cleaning utensils, and resort to physical abuse. The concerned father accused Sattar of neglecting his duties as a teacher and exploiting students by making them engage in laborious activities.

The father filed a police report against Mohammed Sattar, leading to the teacher’s arrest by the Kota Rural police on the evening of February 23, under charges of ‘breach of public peace.’ Although he was granted bail after appearing before a court on February 24, he was immediately re-detained for questioning regarding the assault, as the victim belonged to the SC/ST community.

The accused teacher faces charges under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Act. This incident has sparked outrage in the community, shedding light on the alleged mistreatment of students by the teacher.

It is worth noting that just before the pran prathishtha ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Khera Rasulpur villagers had renewed their demand to change the name of their village to Khera Rampur. The incident has prompted authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions.
