Hindu Girl was Assaulted by Muslim Youth for After Relationship Ends [Hubballi, Karnataka]

In Hubballi city, Karnataka, a Muslim youth named Aftab, a fruit seller, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a Hindu girl after she decided to end their friendship following the alleged murder of MCA student Neha Hiremath, daughter of a Congress leader, by a Muslim youth with whom she was in a relationship.

According to the police, the girl stated that she was introduced to Aftab through another Muslim classmate. Aftab had been pursuing her for two years, gifting her bags and other items. However, following the Neha murder case, she became apprehensive about Aftab’s intentions and decided to end their ties.

Upon returning the gifts and informing Aftab about ending their friendship, he allegedly assaulted her in a public place, even setting fire to the returned gifts on a roadside. Passers-by intervened upon noticing the assault, with one eyewitness mentioning that Aftab was holding a knife during the attack.

The victim reported to the police that Aftab had forcefully given her gifts and had also pressured her to continue the relationship, resorting to assault when she refused.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar confirmed the arrest of Aftab in connection with the case, with investigations ongoing.
