In a heart-wrenching incident from Lohardaga, Jharkhand, an interfaith marriage turned fatal as a Hindu woman from the Janjatiya (tribal) community, Bal Muni Lohra, was brutally murdered by her Muslim husband, Akhtar Ansari. The tragic event unfolded on Tuesday, 7th May, when Akhtar Ansari allegedly strangled his wife to death and attempted to conceal the crime by burying her body.

According to reports from Organiser, locals caught Akhtar Ansari in the act of burying his wife’s body in the cemetery and promptly informed the victim’s parents. Subsequently, a case was filed against Akhtar Ansari, and he was apprehended by the police on charges of murder.

The victim’s father, Laldev Lohra, lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Kisko police station, outlining the gruesome details of his daughter’s murder. Akhtar Ansari faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder (section 302), disappearing evidence (section 201), and crimes committed by multiple persons with common intent (section 31).

Reports suggest that the Hindu woman had eloped with Akhtar Ansari nearly five years ago and had been living with him since then. The couple reportedly had a son together and was married in an Islamic ceremony. Despite opposition from her family due to the interfaith nature of their relationship, the woman chose to stay with Akhtar Ansari.

The fatal incident occurred at their residence, where Akhtar Ansari allegedly strangled his wife to death. He then attempted to bury her quietly in the cemetery with the help of his brother-in-law, Sanaullah Ansari, to conceal the crime from the community.

However, vigilant locals thwarted their attempts by informing the victim’s family, who accused the men of killing their daughter. The police intervened, arresting Akhtar Ansari while the investigation continues. The victim’s body was sent for a postmortem examination at the Lohardaga Sadar Hospital.

While Akhtar Ansari remains in custody, questions linger about the role of his brother-in-law, Sanaullah Ansari, in the crime, as authorities have not disclosed any action against him at this stage.
