In a tragic incident in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, a 25-year-old Hindu youth named Shri Krishna took his own life by consuming poison on April 13th after his father converted to Islam. The shocking turn of events unfolded after a Maulana allegedly influenced Shri Krishna’s father, Harishankar, to embrace Islam.

According to reports, the Maulana, a resident of Ejaz Nagar Gautiya, Bareilly, frequently visited Harishankar’s home and gradually persuaded him to convert to Islam. Subsequently, Harishankar’s behavior underwent a drastic change, with him reportedly beginning to offer Namaz in secret.

When Harishankar’s family discovered his conversion, they vehemently opposed him, leading to frequent arguments within the household. Tragically, tensions escalated on April 13th when Shri Krishna and his father engaged in a heated argument over the conversion issue. In a fit of rage, Shri Krishna consumed poison, resulting in a rapid deterioration of his health.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Shri Krishna succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Amit Pandey, the in-charge of the Baradari police station, assured that the matter is under investigation, with appropriate legal action to follow. However, the formal complaint from the victim’s family is yet to be received by the authorities.

Local Hindu activist Himanshu Patel has called for a thorough investigation into the incident and urged the police to take stringent action against the accused under the National Security Act (NSA). He emphasized the importance of ensuring justice for Shri Krishna and his family, vowing to demand accountability from the Bareilly Police.

This tragic incident underscores the need for communal harmony and respect for individual beliefs within society. It serves as a reminder of the importance of religious tolerance and understanding, as well as the devastating consequences of intolerance and coercion in matters of faith.
