Hindu Youth Tortured in Mosque for Chanting ‘Jai Sri Ram’ [Murshidabad, West Bengal]

In a distressing incident emerging from the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, a Hindu youth was reportedly dragged into a mosque and subjected to brutal torture for uttering the sacred slogan ‘Jai Sri Ram’. The incident, occurring on the auspicious occasion of Holi, shook the peace of Sompara village under the jurisdiction of Shaktipur Police Station.

According to accounts received, the young man’s expression of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ provoked a group of Islamists, who responded with violence. Enraged by the religious sentiment, they forcibly took him inside the mosque where he was viciously assaulted.

Upon learning of the ordeal, the local authorities swiftly intervened, rescuing the victim from the clutches of his assailants. However, the perpetrators managed to evade capture, sparking outrage among the community.
