In a distressing turn of events, three Hindu temples in Guwahati, Assam, fell victim to burglary on a fateful Friday night. The unidentified perpetrators orchestrated a series of thefts, plundering valuable items from these sacred places.

Reports indicate that the miscreants made off with various prized possessions, including cash from donation boxes, ornate ornaments, utensils, and ancient scriptures. Their brazen act of thievery extended beyond mere looting, as they also wreaked havoc within the temple premises, vandalizing chambers and desecrating sacred spaces.

The spree of burglaries commenced at a Naam Ghar in the Narengi area, within the jurisdiction of the Noomati Police Station. Here, the burglars ransacked the donation chamber and storage areas, pillaging the temple’s treasured belongings.

Undeterred by their initial success, the criminals proceeded to target adjacent temples dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Shiva. Breaking through the temple doors, they repeated their modus operandi, shattering donation boxes and absconding with all available funds.

The shocking incident prompted swift action from the local authorities, who promptly dispatched a team of police officers upon receiving a complaint from the Naam Ghar management committee. An investigation has since been launched to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The reprehensible act of desecrating places of worship strikes at the heart of communal harmony and spiritual sanctity. The community stands united in condemning such acts of sacrilege and remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard its religious heritage.
