Koushik Dey’s slit as his dog barked at a gang of Muslim youth [ Odisha, India ]

On April 23, at around 11 P.M, radical Muslims slit the throat of a 22-year-old Hindu youth named Koushik Dey in Cuttack, Odisha. The reason which the attackers gave to have killed him was that Koushik’s dog barked at them while he had taken it for a walk.

As per the latest reports, he had to be operated and is currently admitted to the SCB Medical with fifteen stitches.

Reportedly, Koushik was walking his dogs near Gorkabar Pond and Hindol Kothi Park where the five accused were sitting. The dog barked at the men who have been identified as Saik Dhauli, Saik Niyaz, Saik Qadir, Altaf & Rajesh Sethi.

The five abused the victim and threatened to kill him when his dog started barking. Following this, Koushik tried to save himself by running away when the five pursued the youth and attacked him with stones. They also called other Islamists to join them and subsequently, slit the youth’s throat with his knife.

In his complaint to the police, Koushik also revealed that he was abused and threatened. “Saik Dhauli took out a knife with the intention to kill me. He cut my throat due to which blood oozed out of my throat and I fell down there”, he said.
