In a disturbing incident in Ward Number 7 of Sarangpur, Madhya Pradesh, a young man named Sultan, son of Aslam, has been booked by the Sarangpur Police for allegedly entrapping a minor Hindu girl through deceptive online tactics. Sultan reportedly posed as a Hindu man named Raj on Instagram to establish a relationship with the unsuspecting girl.

After engaging in online conversations, Sultan managed to convince the minor girl to meet him in person under false pretenses. However, his malicious intentions were foiled by members of Hindu organizations who learned about the meeting. Swift action by these organizations prevented a potential mishap and led to the apprehension of both Sultan and the minor girl.

The revelation of Sultan’s true identity shocked the minor Hindu girl, who had been misled by his fake persona. Attempts by Sultan to escape were thwarted by vigilant members of the Hindu organizations, and he was subsequently handed over to the police.

During counseling at the women’s police station, the girl disclosed how Sultan had befriended her using a fake identity and initiated a fraudulent love affair. Based on her statement, Sultan has been booked under Sections 354 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Sarangpur Police Station in-charge Santosh Banghela confirmed that the accused has been presented in court and subsequently sent into custody.

This incident adds to the growing concern over cases of online grooming, with reports suggesting a spike in such incidents across the country. Authorities are urged to remain vigilant and take swift action to protect vulnerable individuals from falling victim to deceptive online practices.
